Personally, I’m the kind of person that forgives them when done by others, but it is definitely not good for your brand. In copywriting (sales pages and emails) throwing out the grammar and punctuation rulebook is encouraged as you can come across more as a speaker, which helps with direct selling. However, someone who is used to reading articles online won’t be ready for you going off-piste in anyway. This is also another area where you need to understand your target audience, as Gen Z will respond to a completely different set of rules (aka style guide) to older audiences.

I’d personally say that accuracy and engagement should come first. This is because you want to write things you can be proud of, before you can start getting good at the traffic stuff. Why? Well, if you get lots of traffic through SEO and your basic writing skills are terrible, then all your hard earned readers aren’t going to finish your articles and all your work will go to waste.
